## @robbysoave (Robby Soave) · 09-27 22:44 · ♥67 ↻8 💬5 Well I can't speak for the organizers of Data After Dark, but I think my friends @edtarnowski @JonasYDu and @JoinYoungVoices were trying to send the message that the sudden backlash against data centers is by no means universal. There is a healthy and thriving pro-tech, pro-AI, pro-data center consensus among many young professionals, particularly on the right and the libertarian right, and our enthusiasm will not sapped by doomer activists and their debunked talking points. It's not about talking down to rural Americans, many of whom are in favor of tech and welcoming of the job opportunities and tax revenue that come with data centers.
And sometimes it's okay to just have a party. It was fun! > 引用 @itslinklauren: This isn’t going to convince Americans to embrace data centers. A bunch of DC folks at a cocktail party raving about what’s best for “rural” America… Americans have legitimate concerns about data centers. They are allowed to question new emerging technologies without being vilified. Data centers may not be new, but the scale of the AI data-center boom certainly is. Whether these partygoers consider their concerns valid or not, this isn’t the way to win over the electorate.
I don’t want China to beat us. I said that about the Green New Scam. A lot of the Green policies were simply a way to slow down our economic growth while China and India continued… But I’m not sure what this party accomplishes.
Listening to the American people and their concerns should always be the top priority. They don’t want to be lectured to by people in Washington sipping martinis. Have serious discussions and conversations. Find middle ground. https://x.com/robbysoave/status/2104341400321945682
## @boymanrobshit (boymanrobshit) · 09-27 00:45 · ♥52 ↻5 💬4 Speaking to a large cloud that you guys all know well on Friday. Sales guy VP-level. He told me he’s got a $2 billion deal blocked because he just doesn’t have anywhere to put the compute. He’s got the GPUs. they’re sitting in a warehouse but he cannot plug them (Jensen makes you take delivery so he can recognize revenue or you lose the allocation hehe). the data center delays are killing him. Not new information what I take away is that this is getting real, so the only answer becomes solutions that increase throughput and reduce power consumption. Optics to increase data transfer speeds and products that optimize power are going to cook hard $LITE $SMTC $TSEM https://x.com/boymanrobshit/status/2104009425837076690

Sure thing!
The SMRtini was a mini espresso martini designed to raise awareness about innovative solutions for powering data centers. Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) are uniquely positioned to meet data center energy needs cleanly, efficiently, and off-the-grid. And they can even sit on the site of data centers
The Closed-loop Spritz was intended to emphasize how American innovation is already solving for much of the water concerns around data centers. In so many cases, the water used for cooling is recycled
The Loudoun County Iced Tea highlights what many call Data Center Alley. Loudoun County, VA, just south of DC, has the highest concentration of data centers in the world. The county has a lower property tax burden in relation to its neighbors because of this. Data center property tax revenue accounts for nearly half of the county’s property tax revenue. It has cut property taxes every year for ten years while increasing city services. This demonstrates the immense benefits data centers can offer to communities https://x.com/edtarnowski/status/2104311683984318592
