# protocol exploit — X 热门讨论 (2026-09-21 14:06 UTC)

## @CuadradoDeFi (Dr. Cuadrado, PharmD) · 09-21 02:45 · ♥25 ↻5 💬6 WMTX dropped ~50% and a lot of people are selling without even understanding what happened.

This was NOT just “the market crashing.”

Infrastructure connected to the SingularityNET bridge was exploited, leading to the unauthorized minting of approximately 53.8M ethereum:0xdbb5cf12408a3ac17d668037ce289f9ea75439d7 on Ethereum and creating massive sell pressure.

Important: Cardano was NOT hacked.

This is the distinction people need to understand:

Bridge risk ≠ blockchain risk. Smart contract risk ≠ protocol fundamentals. Price ≠ value.

World Mobile has already taken a pre-exploit snapshot, while exchanges have restricted activity as the situation is investigated.

Before panic-selling a massive red candle, understand what actually broke first.

That’s the difference between reacting to a chart and actually understanding DeFi. https://x.com/CuadradoDeFi/status/2101865481758015925

## @CicadaFinance (Cicada) · 09-20 06:02 · ♥20 ↻3 💬2 CICADA Finance: Protocol Recovery and Asset Migration Complete

The main recovery work following the recent rtUSQ security incident is complete. Asset migration, contract redeployment, and liquidity restoration have all been carried out, and core protocol functionality is back online.

⚠️Key updates

User asset migration complete Working from an on-chain snapshot taken before the incident, we have airdropped replacement tokens to all eligible holders, separating the tokens that were illegitimately created during the exploit from genuine user balances. If you believe you were eligible but have not received your airdrop, please reach out through our official channels so we can verify your address.

On-chain state and liquidity restored Assets have been redeployed, and the main liquidity pools and on-chain state have been rebuilt to match their condition at block 115730532, immediately before the incident, as closely as possible. Total supply, liquidity depth, and protocol state now mirror where they stood beforehand.

Rebase and protocol functions restored The token supply has been reconstructed, the rtUSQ rebase mechanism is running normally again, and core contract functions have resumed.

New contracts deployed CIC, rtCIC, rtUSQ, and wrtUSQ now run on new contracts. The official addresses are:

CIC: 0x25C8369478490BC7Cf235b9Eb2e63c6327B9D14e rtCIC: 0xaFe78748b4C0500C9B7fc1D1f1D4fD71028d80B7 rtUSQ: 0x3133aF1dC401E90fC794bC60A10ada411AB5d694 wrtUSQ: 0xb8a813cBA11F3D17b4BCeb13671338282c2e99B6

Core assets fully unaffected The incident affected only a small amount of on-chain liquidity. 100% of CICADA's core assets, held with our exchange and custody partners, remained untouched and fully operational throughout.

After the incident, we paused the affected protocol functions and ran a full review of how the exploit occurred, the tokens it created, the assets it touched, and the contracts involved. We then deployed the new contracts, migrated assets, rebuilt liquidity, and added further security measures.

If you believe your address qualified for migration but you have not received your replacement tokens, please contact us through our official channels. We will check your eligibility against the pre-incident snapshot and on-chain records.

Restoring the protocol is not the end of this work. We will continue to strengthen our security reviews, on-chain monitoring, and long-term risk controls. A full post-mortem and further detail on the security improvements will follow in a separate update.

Our thanks to our users, partners, and community for your patience and continued support.
