And honestly, I don’t think the market fully understands what Asheesh Birla is building yet
A decade ago, institutions were still asking:
“Should we even look at crypto?”
Today, the conversation is much different.
The infrastructure is being built: • Legal • Compliance • Custody • Risk management • Liquidity • Digital assets • Capital allocation
And Evernorth sits right in the middle of that shift
It’s expected to hold roughly 473M XRP at closing, backed by investors including Ripple, SBI Group, Pantera Capital, Kraken, GSR and Arrington Capital. SBI alone committed $200M
But the part I find most interesting?
Evernorth isn’t designed around simply buying XRP and putting it in cold storage
The strategy includes institutional lending, liquidity provision, DeFi and other ways of putting XRP to work.
That changes the conversation
Instead of XRP being viewed only as an asset to hold, it can increasingly be viewed as financial infrastructure:
→ Liquidity → Lending → Collateral → DeFi → Payments → Tokenized markets → Institutional capital
And that’s where the bigger picture gets interesting
Evernorth has described its goal as growing XRP per share through treasury operations, ecosystem participation and capital-market activities
Add institutional custody, regulated investment access, tokenization and growing on-chain financial infrastructure around the XRP Ledger...
Suddenly, the thesis isn't simply:
“People are buying XRP.”
It becomes:
Can XRP become productive institutional capital?
That’s the question I’m watching
Because if XRP starts being treated as an asset institutions can hold, lend, deploy and provide liquidity with, the market may eventually value it very differently
