Nostra, a lending protocol on Starknet, was hit after its NSTR price feed was manipulated.
The attacker pushed the reported NSTR price from around $0.006 to $49.5, then used the inflated NSTR as collateral to borrow roughly $3.5M in ETH, STRK, USDC, USDT, WBTC and DAI.
Nostra has now paused lending, borrowing and liquidations while it investigates.
What caught my attention is that the problem wasn't a “wrong code.”
The price being fed into the protocol was manipulated.
This is why oracles are such a big deal in DeFi.
If the protocol believes the wrong price, the entire lending system can be put at risk.
