## @OnomeofWeb3 (Onomee 💙) · 09-23 05:11 · ♥43 ↻14 💬22 We’ve seen meme coins paired with SOL.

We’ve seen them paired with ETH.

We’ve seen them paired with stablecoins.

But what if the thing your meme is trading against actually represents something from the real world?

Imagine a meme token called $CORN.

Instead of saying:

“$CORN is up 50% against SOL.”

you could have a market where the meme is traded against a token representing corn.

Or gold.

Or crude oil.

Or coffee.

Or wheat.

That’s the idea behind @pitlaunchpad.

It’s building a launchpad and exchange around meme × commodity markets where creators can launch meme markets paired with commodity-linked contracts instead of the usual crypto pairs.

And the more I looked into it, the more interesting the model became.

The platform currently lists 29 commodity contracts, covering things like gold, silver, crude oil, wheat, corn, coffee and more.

Markets start on a virtual-liquidity curve before migrating to an onchain pool once they hit the required threshold.

But the part that really caught my attention is what happens to the trading fees.

The default trading fee is 2%.

A portion goes to the creator.

A portion goes to liquidity and the PIT buyback mechanism.

And 40% is designed to go to holders of the meme/commodity pair, paid in the commodity it is paired with.

So if you’re holding a meme paired with gold, the idea is that your share of trading activity is paid in the gold-linked asset.

That makes the model more interesting than simply launching another meme and hoping people buy it.

Because now there’s another question attached to the market:

What is this meme being measured against?

And that’s what I’m watching with Pit Launch.

Memes are driven by attention.

Commodities have real-world markets behind them.

Pit Launch is experimenting with putting those two worlds in the same market.

The concept is definitely different.

But the real test, as always, is what happens after the novelty wears off.

Will people actually want to trade memes against commodities?

That’s Pit Launch, from my lens. https://x.com/OnomeofWeb3/status/2102626987852349561

## @Ellaweb_3 (𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗮) · 09-23 04:35 · ♥51 ↻3 💬34 Robinhood Chain is sitting above $1 billion in DeFi TVL.

According to DefiLlama, @RobinhoodCrypto’s network recorded $1.57 billion in DEX volume over the past 24 hours, with another $1.08 billion in stablecoins onchain.

Trading has slowed on the spot side. 7-day volume came in at $10.36 billion, down about 20% from the previous week.

Perpetuals went the other way, rising nearly 23% to $3.87 billion over 7 days.

So there’s still plenty of trading on Robinhood Chain. Spot activity has eased while perpetuals have picked up. https://x.com/Ellaweb_3/status/2102617886304985273

STABLECOINS.

FIrst step was get a foothold in Latin America with Galileo client banks and fintechs. Check.

Second step was international payments. Check.

Third step was issuing SofiUSD. Check.

Fourth step was wide addoption with MasterCard settlements. Check (as of today).

Nowt next steps use Mastercard adoption to gain bigger footprint in Latin America to gather support with businesses doing business with their own countrymen through MasterCard (both wholesalers and retailers dealing with consumers) and then inter country payments to US Businesses.

Then get US business adoption through retailers then big businesses dealing with retailers.

Getting down the road nicely.. more execution needed ahead.

Good start https://x.com/Tim_Sweeney_TAR/status/2102609495440667007
