The problem with cases like these is that access to confidential information comes with the job.
Limiting who can see it, logging that access, and investigating suspicious trades ahead of announcements would be a good start.
In the Robinhood case, prosecutors allege repeated trades during 2025 and 2026. That makes me wonder how firms could spot these patterns sooner.
