## @BobLoukas (Bob Loukas 🗽) · 09-29 16:31 · ♥194 ↻7 💬18 Such an odd market. There are big nuggets for both perma bulls and bears to latch onto, a perfect environment for fitting the market to your bias. (AI, Capex, Growth, Rates, Oil, Breadth)
I like to approach markets like this with the fundamental belief that we simply cannot know what lies ahead, more so now than ever. Embrace the unknown and trust the trend for as long as it holds, but be quick to hunker down the moment it’s lost.
And that might mean getting trapped occasionally. That’s the price of refusing to predict (and blindly hold to) what comes next. https://x.com/BobLoukas/status/2104972378186875141

I was an analyst for Wall Street firms during the 1999 bubble. I provided picks into that insanity. This buildout was never that movie.
Hyperscale CapEx plus real demand for data center compute is not a meme, it is a real procurement cycle.

Do you think this is a bubble, a build-out cycle, or the beginning of a multi-year wave?

Same function, completely different treatment on the balance sheet & that shift alone has changed how a lot of teams budget

## @SemiconductorsX (Semiconductor Insider) · 09-28 13:22 · ♥30 ↻0 💬3 UBS just raised TSMC's capex
The new note puts 2027 spend at $90 billion and 2028 at $105 billion. Both are a step up from the last book.
Sales are modeled up more than 40% in 2026 and another 40% in 2027. GPUs, CPUs and custom AI dies are all still climbing.
It is pulling N3 and N2 faster and bringing A14 tools in earlier so that node has wafers when volume starts in 2028. Packaging spend is rising with the same chips. Tool prices and prepayments add more to the bill.
UBS now has 220,000 wafers a month of N3 and 210,000 of N2 by the end of 2028. Both sit above the old forecast.
That is how a foundry spends when it sees years of extra silicon and packages, not a one-year spike. UBS says the same logic is showing up at Intel. $TSM $INTC > 引用 @intelfabs: TSMC may spend over $100B in capex by 2028.
That's not a company preparing for slower demand.
It's a company preparing for a lot more chips, a lot more packaging, and a lot more AI.
