## @IParvel56536 (PᐃVEL.eth🍌🪑) · 10-01 08:05 · ♥80 ↻1 💬94 Bitcoin already has the liquidity.
the question is what happens when BTC becomes usable across DeFi.
@Starknet is working on this with strkBTC.
- BTC can move into Starknet - it can interact with DeFi apps and markets - users get more ways to put their BTC to work
strkBTC is less about moving Bitcoin to another chain and more about giving BTC access to a wider onchain environment.
bitcoin as an asset is one thing.
bitcoin becoming usable across more of DeFi is another. https://x.com/IParvel56536/status/2105569667742044358
## @shelleymaeph (Shelley) · 10-01 08:35 · ♥85 ↻1 💬85 I think BTCFi has been asking the wrong question.
“Can we put Bitcoin on another chain?”
Sure.
But that isn't the interesting part anymore.
The interesting question is:
What happens after Bitcoin gets there?
Because wrapping BTC isn't the end goal.
Utility is.
If BTC enters an ecosystem and then just sits in another wallet, what actually changed?
With strkBTC, @Starknet is taking a different approach.
Bring BTC into Starknet.
Then make that BTC usable across supported applications.
Trading.
Liquidity.
Crypto lending.
Staking.
And potentially private versions of those flows where supported.
That's a much more interesting BTCFi thesis to me.
Bitcoin is already one of the most widely held crypto assets.
The opportunity isn't convincing everyone to stop holding it.
It's giving holders more ways to use the BTC they already have.
And privacy makes this even more interesting.
Because once financial activity becomes composable, the amount of information exposed by every interaction starts to matter too.
That's why I see two separate pieces here:
BTC becomes more useful.
BTC activity gets more control over its visibility.
Put those together and you get a very different direction for Bitcoin onchain.
Not “Bitcoin but on another chain.”
More like:
Bitcoin as an active part of a DeFi ecosystem.
That's the BTCFi thesis I'm watching from @Starknet.
Still, using bridges and DeFi protocols comes with real risks, including smart contract, bridge, liquidity and market risks. Returns aren't guaranteed. > 引用 @shelleymaeph: Bitcoin being transparent is one of its biggest strengths.
It's also one of the things that can make using it uncomfortable.
Think about it.
Your balance can be visible.
Your transactions can be visible.
Your counterparties can be visible.
Your activity can leave a very public trail.
For me, the interesting part of @Starknet's strkBTC isn't simply “private Bitcoin.”
It's **optional privacy**.
strkBTC can remain public, but supported wallets let users shield it when they want more control over what is visible.
That distinction matters.
I'm not looking for “anonymous Bitcoin.”
I'm looking for a system where I don't have to make every financial move public by default just because I want to use my BTC onchain.
And this is where STRK20 gets interesting.
Shielded balances and private transfers are built into Starknet's privacy infrastructure, while the system still has mechanisms for regulated disclosure when required.
So the choice becomes more nuanced:
public when you need public, shielded when you want more privacy.
That's a much more practical way to think about onchain privacy.
Not hiding from the world.
Just having more control over what the world gets to see.
That's the part of strkBTC I'm most interested in exploring.
And yes, DeFi still comes with smart contract, bridge, liquidity and market risks. Privacy doesn't remove those risks either. https://x.com/shelleymaeph/status/2105577356005884295
## @World100x (W0RLD 👾) · 10-01 06:00 · ♥70 ↻10 💬60 Injective is building for a market that never sleeps.
The “new internet economy” starts making sense when you look at what @injective is actually putting together.
➺ Humans trade ➺ Institutions issue and settle ➺ AI agents can trade and pay
Tokenization brings the assets, native market infrastructure gives them liquidity and agentic finance brings activity that doesn’t need to log off.
That’s a much bigger thesis than simply being another DeFi chain.
The bet is simple: finance becomes always-on, programmable and onchain. $INJ https://x.com/World100x/status/2105538388916850700
## @0xSweep (Sweep) · 10-01 09:13 · ♥74 ↻7 💬53 LINK is massively undervalued right now
But it won't be the case for long
Institutions want exposure to DeFi RWAs stablecoins and $LINK sits right at the center of it
Only a matter of time before it takes off https://t.co/oQ3GwEImE3 https://x.com/0xSweep/status/2105586988879613993
