Electrum fixes Lightning backup flaw, some BTC users need new backups
Bitcoin wallet Electrum has fixed a Lightning Network backup flaw, but some users need to create new backups, CryptoSlate reported. According to the outlet, some wallets may be unable to recover BTC because existing backups lack the key information needed if certain types of Lightning payment channels are closed by the counterparty. Electrum fixed the issue in the latest 4.8.2 release, and affected users need to export a new backup while their existing wallet data remains available.
