A computer version of a sci-fi action film ControlResonant, a game from Finnish studio Remedy Entertainment, was leaked online a day before its official international release, scheduled for September 24, 2026. The executable file distributed online contains no restrictions and allows the game to be run without the need for specialized security bypass procedures. The leak occurred amid preparations for the global launch of the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The main reason for the immediate availability of the files was the complete absence of Denuvo Anti-Tamper anti-piracy technology and other heavy-duty third-party protection systems in the PC version. The project's Steam store page initially made no mention of the implementation of secondary DRM modules, which is entirely consistent with Remedy Entertainment's long-standing production policy of releasing builds with standard distribution platform bindings. As a result, the leaked digital pre-load package data was immediately decrypted and posted online by members of the pirate community.
Story line ControlResonant stars Dylan Faden, the sole player-controlled protagonist, in a new, massive crisis at the Federal Bureau of Control. The game takes place in Manhattan, plagued by spatial anomalies and confronted by an unknown para-benchmark entity, while former Bureau Director Jessie Faden remains missing. Despite the early leak of a PC build, the official release on all target gaming devices will take place as scheduled, with no changes to the developers' schedule.
