## @khingoei (Khing Oei) · 09-15 19:31 · ♥76 ↻14 💬4 The Clarity Act failed cloture in the Senate without reaching even 50 votes. The market traded it as a Bitcoin event, with the price sliding into the vote and prediction odds of passage this year down from 90% in February to under 20%.
What was actually contested: stablecoin yield and deposit flight from community banks, developer liability in DeFi, ethics provisions, state preemption. Bitcoin sat outside every one of those fights. It has been a CFTC commodity since 2015, spot ETFs have traded since January 2024 and JPMorgan accepts it as loan collateral.
Nothing to see here. https://x.com/khingoei/status/2099944231401894355

## @PaulFrambot (Paul Frambot 🦋) · 09-15 19:43 · ♥74 ↻1 💬4 CLARITY may not move forward this year, but we’re still optimistic that regulatory clarity in the US will proceed and provide the foundation for continued adoption of blockchain infrastructure.
There is great momentum with the SEC’s Reg Crypto and Commissioner Peirce's statement on vaults. We’ll keep engaging to make sure crypto and DeFi are well represented as these take shape. > 引用 @CJRobins01: CLARITY was the culmination of nearly a decade of crypto legislative and policy efforts. This is just a speed bump. Our industry's broader regulatory efforts continue.
The US still has several paths to provide meaningful clarity for crypto. Whether it's through @SECGov and @CFTC rulemaking, future legislation, or both, it’s clear there is no slowing down.
A durable US framework should include strong protections for developers, recognition that (when done right) DeFi protocols are infrastructure rather than intermediaries, and rules capable of achieving equivalence with other jurisdictions.
Getting that framework right is the ultimate goal, and we here at @Morpho will continue to dedicate our time, energy, and resources to ensuring we achieve this goal. https://x.com/PaulFrambot/status/2099947334583124304
