NVIDIA RTX Spark confirmed for Microsoft Windows event, but gaming laptops are still missing

Yes, I was confused for a second too – it’s American date style, so October 7th. Microsoft and NVIDIA are dropping more hints about next week’s Windows and Surface event.

Microsoft now says the October 7 event will include “RTX Spark and new experiences designed to unlock more possibilities for developers and builders.” NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is already confirmed to attend, and the RTX Spark account has also shared the new teaser. As VideoCardz reported earlier, RTX Spark hardware was already expected to be one of the main subjects of the event.

RTX Spark hardware is already taking shape

NVIDIA introduced RTX Spark earlier this year as its new Windows platform combining Grace CPU cores with Blackwell RTX graphics and up to 128GB of unified LPDDR5X memory. NVIDIA currently lists the ASUS ProArt P16, Dell XPS 16, HP OmniBook Ultra 16, Lenovo Yoga Pro 9n, Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra and MSI Prestige N16 Flip AI+ among the first laptop designs.

The current lineup does not exactly scream affordable, but then again, when was that ever the main theme of a Microsoft hardware launch?

Most of the models announced so far come from creator, productivity and professional lineups. None of the six laptops currently highlighted by NVIDIA is a traditional gaming model, even though RTX Spark supports DLSS, Reflex and Game Ready drivers. Pricing for most of them is still unknown, but leaks didn’t leave much hope.

October 7 should fill in the remaining gaps

I don’t think the specs are much of a secret at this point. It basically comes down to how well it works and how much these laptops will cost. Since the launch is just one week away, I’m sure review samples have already been distributed.
