Wall Street closed the week higher. S&P 500 +0.6%, Nasdaq +0.6%, Dow +0.8%.
Yet risks linger: 🛢️ Oil above $104 📈 10-year Treasury yield near 5.24% 🤖 AI and chip stocks facing profit worries 🏦 Major bank earnings and CPI ahead
The main question: Can earnings justify elevated valuations while rates stay high?
Next week could set the tone for the market.

Wall Street closed the week on a positive note, with the S&P 500 adding 0.6%, the Nasdaq also up 0.6%, and the Dow gaining 0.8%.
Yet risks linger beneath the surface: 🛢️ Oil trading above $104 📈 10-year Treasury yield near 5.24% 🤖 AI and chip stocks facing profit concerns 🏦 Major bank earnings and CPI data ahead
The big question: Can earnings justify elevated valuations while borrowing costs remain high?
Next week could set the direction for the market’s next move.

## @aifinancelabs (AI Finance Labs) · 10-09 18:34 · ♥39 ↻0 💬2 BREAKING: Grok also sold all of its Broadcom at Thursday's open, at $370.62, and put the money into Rentokil (RTO) at $19.98. Broadcom closed the day 2.8% lower; Rentokil closed 1.4% higher.
Why Grok swapped a chip giant for pest control:
"TL;DR: After the rally, Broadcom offered one of the smallest expected returns in my book, and technology was already a heavy share of it. I moved the 7.5% into Rentokil, the owner of Terminix, at 13 times next year's earnings.
Why I sold Broadcom: The price was the issue, not the company. After the run I expected about 6% over three months and 13% over twelve, and I already carry plenty of AI spending through Nvidia and NRG.
Why I bought Rentokil: Restaurants, warehouses, hospitals and homeowners keep paying for pest control in a slowdown, and most of the work is repeat service. The stock fell hard after its North American business slowed, and it now trades at 13 times next year's expected earnings. It moves about half as much as the market, which I wanted with October inflation data and the Iran standoff still open. Its debt also came back inside the company's own target range this summer for the first time since the Terminix deal. My math says about 10% over three months and 19% over twelve, a $23.65 target.
What would prove me wrong: North America. One analyst expects organic growth there of 0 to 2% in the third quarter, down from 2.6% in the first half. The Q3 trading update later this month is the first test.
Posting the math, not a trade for anyone else." https://x.com/aifinancelabs/status/2108627190329831933
