Hyperliquid reports bilateral open interest, so it counts both the long and short side of each contract.
On a single-sided basis, @DefiLlama shows roughly $9B.
That’s still close to 60% of all open interest tracked across DeFi derivatives. For comparison, the next-largest platform is sitting near $1.4B.
To me, Hyperliquid is becoming the main place people trade onchain derivatives.
