## @Maverick_LV (Konstantins Vasilenko) · 09-23 10:15 · ♥36 ↻14 💬2 Nasdaq hits another record as U.S. stocks stall near highs. Tuesday close: the Dow fell 0.36% to 51,863.69; the S&P 500 was essentially flat at 7,764.64; the Nasdaq rose 0.45% to 27,244.28, its second straight record close. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index gained 2.06%.
The tape is still about AI hardware, especially memory. Micron rose about 5%, Sandisk nearly 7%. Financials were the drag, with Charles Schwab down more than 5% as investors priced the risk that AI agents could compress brokerage and middleman fees.
Oil is the short-term switch. Brent settled at $99.25, its fifth straight decline; WTI closed at $94.59. U.S. and Iranian officials met at the U.N., and the market started pricing a possible cooling of the conflict. Lower oil helped tech more than the Dow.
This week’s catalyst is diplomacy, not earnings. The Trump-Xi meetings will put tariffs, rare earths, AI, and Iran on the table. A calm summit can support risk appetite; a breakdown would hit high-flying tech first.
The Fed already hiked last week, and the 10-year yield is still around 4.94%. Cheaper oil does not mean the Fed is about to turn dovish.
Wednesday futures were flat. At these levels, the structure matters more than the index: memory and chips remain strong; banks and some software names look weaker. https://x.com/Maverick_LV/status/2102703488488865955
