The scroll was only supposed to take a minute. Trance helps you snap out of it. It runs quietly in the corner of your screen, gently letting you know the moment you slip into a trance so you can get back on track.
Nobody decides to lose an afternoon.
You open a tab. Check something. Watch one video. Come back later.
The minutes are only part of the problem. What disappears is the concentration between them.
Trance turns that invisible gap into something you can see.
Trance reads activity signals: input recency, cursor movement, the foreground window title. Never the content of your work. Step through the sequence below to see how it responds.
This is activity-aware attention feedback: Trance reacts to signals, never to screen contents, keystrokes, or anything medical. Awareness, not surveillance.
Everything you need. Nothing in the way. Hover to expand it, drag it anywhere, collapse it to a pill.
↑ Hover it, drag it, switch tabs, start a break.
Collapsed by default, expanding only on hover. It lives at the edge of your desktop and stays out of the work.
Drag the widget anywhere on screen. The position is remembered between sessions, and the tray icon always brings it back.
When you’ve seen enough, the widget compresses to a status pill: the state and the task. Nothing else.
Every task gets a color of its own, and the efficiency line changes color at the exact moment the task changes. Color is data here, not decoration.
It is a separate part of the session.
Trance tracks breaks separately. Time on a break never counts against your efficiency. The metric simply holds steady while you’re away, then continues where it left off.
Trance turns the session into something you can actually understand. A full desktop window, not a web page.
Everything stays on your device.
Trance stores session history locally on your device. It observes activity signals: input recency, cursor movement, and the foreground window title when needed for video detection. It does not read the content of your work.
Trance shows patterns, not the private content of your work.
Everything runs on your machine. So everything costs what running on your machine costs.
