There are billions of smartphones in the world today, and almost every single one of them already has the hardware needed to capture usable spatial data, a camera, GPS, motion sensors and enough processing power to handle everything on device before anything gets uploaded.
Most industries trying to solve real world data collection completely ignore this. They build custom hardware, specialized vehicles, or dedicated capture devices, all of which are expensive to produce, slow to deploy and impossible to scale at the speed robotics and world models actually need.
With @vangrid_io, instead of trying to build a new sensor network from scratch, it treats the phones people already carry every day as the network.
No extra hardware, no special training, no waiting on manufacturing or logistics. Someone walks through a location they already visit and that alone becomes usable data once captured and verified.
This is what makes the model genuinely scalable in a way centralized mapping never could be. A mapping company can only send out as many vehicles as it can afford to build and maintain.
A phone based network scales with the number of people willing to participate, and that number only grows as more locations need coverage and more bounties get posted.

I think the future of privacy is being able to prove something without revealing everything.
That’s why @primus_labs caught my attention.
Think about how much useful information is already sitting across the internet.
Your trading history. Your credentials. Your financial activity. Your social reputation. Your Web2 identity.
Today, if an app wants to verify that information, you often have to expose the actual data.
Primus is working on a different approach.
Using technologies like zkTLS, the idea is to prove that a piece of Web2 information is genuine without simply handing over the underlying private data.
That sounds simple.
But the implications are pretty big.
Imagine proving your financial history without uploading your entire financial record.
Proving a credential without exposing unnecessary personal information.
Letting an AI agent verify information without giving it access to everything about you.
Or using real-world data inside DeFi while keeping sensitive information private.
This is where I think the next phase of Web3 gets interesting.
We already know how to put data onchain.
The harder question is:
Can we make data verifiable, useful and private at the same time?
That’s the problem @primus_labs is trying to solve.
And if this infrastructure works at scale, privacy may stop being a feature.
It could become part of the default way we interact with Web3.
