The Doctor reads, cites and points you to a vet. It does not name a condition or prescribe anything, and it is built so it cannot quietly start.
Every pet owner we know keeps the record somewhere: a drawer with the vaccination card, a photo of a lab report in the camera roll, a note on the fridge with the dose times, and the rest in memory. It works until it doesn't — at a new clinic, at the border, or at the sitter's door with the dog already in the car.
We didn't want to build another pet diary. Diaries ask you to type, and nobody types on a Tuesday. So the rule from day one was that the record has to fill itself in: a photo writes the profile, a tap or a spoken sentence logs the day, a photographed lab report reads itself into the chart. The owner approves; the app does the typing.
The second rule was honesty about what an app can and cannot do. TailStory Doctor answers out of veterinary books and names the one it used. The photo check reports what it sees and lets a clinical table — not a model's opinion — decide how urgent it is. It notices; a veterinarian diagnoses. That line is written into the code, and we intend to keep it there.
