My message to that group: The fact that you belittle others and constantly attack us does not make us failures, nor will it stop this project. You are simply lowering your own value in front of the entire community. Contrary to what you might think, this doesn't just show that you are ignorant—because ignorance in itself is nothing to be ashamed of. No one possesses complete knowledge. A doctor is ignorant when it comes to engineering, an engineer knows nothing of medicine, and a mathematician is untaught in biology. True foolishness lies in claiming to know and understand everything. We are all continuous learners, regardless of how much knowledge we hold. Today, Protocol v27 is being upgraded. The upgrade will first go live on Testnet 2 today. Then, on Thursday or Friday, it is expected to move to Mainnet.

As usual, it typically takes about 72 hours after stability is confirmed before it is fully deployed on Mainnet.

We are currently going through this upgrade to see the new features and developments.

But the question that keeps coming to my mind is: Could Pi rise after this — now that it has become fully decentralized?

2017 was the speculation cycle.

Low liquidity. Extreme volatility. Almost everything ran. Capital flooded into the market and the entire top end of crypto exploded. It was raw speculation and price discovery.

2021 was the narrative cycle. Post COVID liquidity collided with crypto and the wider risk on trade.

Bitcoin went mainstream. Elon showed the power one person could have over a narrative. DOGE showed the power of memes. BAYC and NFTs showed the power of onchain culture. X showed the power of communities and influencers.

Market makers became more sophisticated. Narratives became more powerful. Crypto became an attention economy as much as a financial market.

Then came the years that followed.

Bitcoin increasingly separated itself from much of the altcoin market, while countless alts remained miles below their previous highs. Retail participation changed (meme coins), liquidity became more concentrated, and the market became increasingly institutional.

Which brings me to 2026: the utility cycle.

My thesis is that this cycle looks completely different.

Not simply another Bitcoin-led speculative mania.

Tokenization. Stablecoins. Payments. Settlement. Smart contracts. DeFi. Real world assets. Institutional adoption. Onchain liquidity.

Crypto finally moving beyond “What can this token be worth?” toward “What can this technology actually do?”

2017 proved crypto could attract capital.

2021 proved crypto could capture global attention.

2026 will prove crypto can actually become financial infrastructure.

And if that transition really is happening, I believe this cycle has the potential to dwarf everything that came before it.

This time, the story isn’t just speculation.

It’s utilization.
