There have been rumours doing the rounds online in recent times about Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire making a return. Now, the latest Pokémon HOME update has got some trainers even more excited.
If you haven't already seen it for yourself, the new update for the storage service (bumping the app up to Version 4.1.0) adds a new icon to the main menu as part of the launch of FireRed & LeafGreen connectivity.
It's an icon labelled "GBA games" (aka Game Boy Advance). This allows you to link your digital versions of FireRed & LeafGreen, and then trade Pokémon from these versions to HOME. It seems the name of this new section has already convinced many fans Ruby & Sapphire could be returning at some point in the future. There's also space for another icon.
Of course, there haven't been any official announcements, but many trainers believe the evidence is mounting.
Earlier this year, a datamine of the FireRed and LeafGreen Switch emulator supposedly revealed support for Sapphire, Ruby (and Emerald) ROMs. And last month, a "suspiciously high-definition video" of Ruby & Sapphire was shared by an official Pokémon account on social media.
The Pokémon Company has also announced it will be ending the storage service Pokémon Bank the same week as Pokémon Day 2027.
