Firefox 157 Now Available With Visual Refresh, WebRTC Hardware AV1 Decode

Most notable with Firefox 157 is their Nova UI as "the biggest visual refresh in years" for the browser. The Nova interface aims to modernize the look across the browser chrome, sidebar, and menus.

Firefox 157 also now supports using hardware AV1 decoding on supported devices for WebRTC video calls. Up to now Firefox was always relying on software decoding for AV1 videos with WebRTC.

The Firefox 157 release also has HDR video fixes, improved audio and video synchronization when changing the video playback speed, and removal of Amazon as a built-in search engine.
