Fermi
Make an educated guess. This independent Fermi game is an estimation game of real numbers: how many trees grow on Earth, how many eggs would fill an Olympic pool. Make a guess, see the answer, and keep going until one guess is more than 10 times off.

How to play
- 1Read the question. Every answer is a real number, worked out from published figures.
- 2Make a guess. 1.2 million, 3e6 and 12k all work, and the calculator does the sums.
- 3See the real answer, how far off you were, and the figures behind it.
- 4Land within 10 times the answer, high or low, and you survive to the next question. Your score is how many you survive in a row.

Questions
What is the Fermi game?
Fermi is a free educated guess game: a trivia game of real numbers you can reason your way to, like how many trees grow on Earth. You make an educated guess, then see the answer, where it comes from and how it adds up.
What is an educated guess game?
An educated guess game gives you a question whose exact answer is hard to know, then asks you to reason your way to a sensible estimate. In Fermi, you break a big number into smaller facts you can picture, enter your answer, and see the figures and arithmetic behind the result.
What is fermi gg, and is this the same game?
Fermi.gg is a separate estimation game and website. Fermi Unlimited is an independent browser game published by Daily; it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Fermi.gg. Here, you make an educated guess from real-world figures, see the working behind the answer, and can continue with a new question without a daily limit.
Is there a fermi gg game with unlimited questions?
Yes. Fermi Unlimited is a separate, independent game with unlimited questions. Each answer is shown with its source figures and arithmetic; a run continues until one guess is more than 10 times off.
How is Fermi Unlimited different from the daily Fermi game?
Fermi Unlimited is independently made and published by Daily, with its own question bank, sourcing, scoring and no daily limit. Questions keep coming, harder as your streak grows, until one guess is more than 10 times off.
What does it mean to survive a question in Fermi?
Your guess landed within 10 times the real number, too high or too low, so your run goes on. A guess of 50 or 5,000 survives an answer of 500; 40 or 6,000 ends the run.
How does scoring work in Fermi?
Your score is how many questions you survive in a row. Within 10% of the answer is a bullseye and within 2 times is close, but any guess within 10 times counts. Your best streak stays on your device.
Where do the answers come from?
Published figures: statistics offices, official records, company reports and reference works. Every figure is checked against its source, the arithmetic is done in code, and the answer screen shows the figures and where they come from.
How do you make a good guess?
In this educated guess game, split the question into pieces you can picture, guess each to the nearest power of ten, and multiply. Getting the number of zeros right matters far more than the first digit.
