PANews, October 1 — The U.S. Institute for Supply Management (ISM) reported that the September Manufacturing PMI came in at 54.5, down 0.1 percentage point from 54.6 in August, marking the ninth consecutive month in expansion territory. Among the sub-indices, the New Orders Index rose to 55.3, the Employment Index rose to 52.7, and the Prices Index climbed from 71.1 to 77.9; the Production Index fell to 56.7, and the Inventories Index fell to 48.6.
