ASUS has released its own Googlebook 14 model alongside other vendors, featuring powerful configuration based on Intel Panther Lake.
ASUS Unveils Googlebook 14 Ultraportable Laptop With Up To 64 GB RAM, 70Wh Battery, and Core Ultra 7 Processor at Just Under 0.99 Kg
Multiple vendors are now preparing their own Googlebook laptops, featuring the Google OS, and today, ASUS has joined in launching its Googlebook 14 ultraportable laptop that will feature Intel's Panther Lake chips. The ASUS Googlebook 14 laptop is designed for Gemini Intelligence and comes with 12 months of Google AI Pro.
ASUS says its users will get access to Gemini, Flow, and Gemini Notebook, along with 5 TB of cloud storage to store their data. The ASUS Googlebook 14 shares many similarities with Googlebooks from other vendors and is an ultra-lightweight laptop that weighs just 0.99 kg, thanks to its CNC-machined magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis, which helps it retain rigidity without compromising portability.
The Googlebook 14 uses a Dusk Ash color chassis and uses Nano Ceramic Technology to prevent scratches, stains, and abrasion. Moreover, it meets the US Military-grade MIL-STD 810H standard for durability while bringing a premium look. As far as the specs are concerned, we have seen Googlebooks being available with Intel, Qualcomm, and MediaTek processors, and ASUS decided to go with Intel's Panther Lake, aka Core Ultra Series 3 chips.
ASUS says that the laptop will feature up to Core Ultra 7 series 3 processors. Specs reveal up to an 8-core Core Ultra 7 355 or a Core Ultra 5 325 8-core processor. It will be paired with up to 64 GB of LPDDR5X memory, and for storage, users will get up to 1 TB of storage using the PCIe 4.0 interface. Its display will utilize an OLED panel and will boast a 16:10 aspect ratio with 3K resolution, and will support touchscreen functionality.
Similar to other Googlebooks, the Googlebook 14 from ASUS will also run at a good 120 Hz refresh rate for smoother and fluid visuals. Moreover, it will offer great HDR support, hitting 1000 nits of peak brightness, while its Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with Gorilla Matte anti-glare technology will help reduce reflections for better clarity. ASUS's Googlebook will be powered by a good 70 Wh battery, which is what we saw on the Lenovo's Googlebook 15 specs.
Pricing-wise, the ASUS Googlebook 14 is expected to debut at $1,299 for the Core Ultra 7 processor configuration and will start hitting shelves on October 4.
