The Alpenglow upgrade has entered public testnet, targeting a reduction in transaction finality from 12.8 seconds to just 150 milliseconds—around 85× faster.
That could mean near-instant settlement for exchanges, bridges, merchants and payments.
Important: this is still being tested and is not live on mainnet yet. But if Solana delivers, it will be a huge technological leap for an already powerful ecosystem.
This is exactly why $SOL remains one of my top long-term picks.
