I just looked through the data on @coingecko and noticed an interesting shift.
in January 2025, tokenized market cap on the chart stood at $1.425B.
by October 9, 2026, that number had reached $9.388B, with the following breakdown:
→ Commodities: $6.235B (~66.4%)
→ Stocks: $2.547B (~27.1%)
→ ETFs: $605M (~6.4%)
Commodities still lead, but stocks and ETFs now account for roughly 1/3 of the market, worth around $3.15B.
I feel this is a notable shift, as RWA is no longer just about tokenized gold but is expanding into other types of traditional assets.
and this is also what i want the community to pay more attention to:
Stocks and ETFs are now large enough to be worth researching separately, rather than looking at RWA as a single sector.
ofc, a large market cap doesn't necessarily mean good liquidity. I still want to look at it alongside trading volume and issuer-level data to see where trading activity actually sits.
That's also why i often use #CoinGecko RWA Charts to compare asset types and find names worth tracking next.
