Most PFPs are one face with hats.
@Slippyclub is one snake with twelve mornings.
Every day a different personality wakes up. The others do not know. Zero arms. Same body. That is the joke and the collection at the same time.
I care about this because the drawing is the product. Antoine Mingo — the Pudgy Penguins artist — treating character design as the drop, not a trait sheet taped on later. Copium, Cowboy, Degen, Professor, the one nobody has seen yet. You do not pick a rarity row. You pick a mood you will actually wear as a PFP.
Robinhood Chain is the house. Slippy is what you remember when you close the tab.
I already know which one is going on my timeline. The rest of the tank can stay asleep. https://x.com/Robiul70177/status/2102064769570414977
## @Arpon_360 (Arpon) · 09-21 17:57 · ♥74 ↻1 💬83 Good night CT...
One snake, twelve personalities.
That's actually the point which interests me regarding @Slippyclub .
They never attempted to complicate the character by giving it an endless number of random traits.
It features one familiar character, but with twelve different moods.
That's quite something you can identify with.
Some days you’re calm.
Some days you’re chaotic.
On certain days you're the one who causes trouble in the group chat.
On other days you just want to remain quiet and watch everything take place.
The character does not change, but the personality does.
That must be the reason why simple characters are able to remain part of internet culture for so long.
When you look at the silhouette you at once know what it is.
The personality offers people something to engage with.
In my opinion that's where @Slippyclub could become interesting.
Individuals have the possibility of turning their Slippy into memes, inside jokes, profile identities or even small stories based on their personality.
I was also interested in the artistic aspect.
Antoine Mingo, who is renowned for his work on Pudgy Penguins, is taking part in the character design, so the creative direction is something worth watching.
The fact that Slippy is based on the Robinhood Chain makes for another interesting element in the story.
Already there is a group of people interested in retail within that ecosystem, so it will be interesting to find out if Slippy will be able to get hold of those who are outside the typical NFT circle.
In truth, the artwork is just the starting point.
The actual issue is how the community treats it.
Do people actually start saying:
That's right, Slippy is me literally.
Do some personalities turn into memes?
Do individuals begin to recognise one another on the basis of their Slippy?
The section currently under observation is this one.
The idea of twelve personalities may seem to be a small one.
However, if people identify with them, then twelve will be more than sufficient.
Same snake.
Different mood every day.
So...
What kind of Slippy are you today? 🐍 https://x.com/Arpon_360/status/2102094840771268688
## @ezra_hq (EZRΛ HQ) · 09-21 15:44 · ♥68 ↻0 💬83 I’ve been looking deeper into @Slippyclub and the more I look at the art, the more I understand what they’re trying to build.
The idea is simple but has a lot of room to grow.
One snake. Twelve different personalities.
That gives Slippy something a lot of NFT projects struggle to create: character.
Each personality can represent a different mood, internet archetype or community. That makes the art easier to turn into memes, reactions, PFPs and stories instead of just being another collection of random traits.
But the bigger thing for me is the IP potential.
Slippy is being built as a character brand that can move beyond NFTs into games, animation, physical collectibles, digital identity and internet culture.
That changes how I look at the project.
The NFT can be the entry point, but the character itself is what needs to become memorable.
And Antoine Mingo being involved in the character design makes the art side even more interesting, especially given his work with Pudgy Penguins.
Robinhood Chain is part of the ecosystem but I think the strongest story here is still Slippy itself.
The art.
The personalities.
The meme potential.
The possibility of turning one recognizable snake into an IP people actually want to collect.
That’s the part I’ll be watching closely. https://x.com/ezra_hq/status/2102061361991995542

## @0xMerp (merp) · 09-21 17:40 · ♥63 ↻0 💬10 i think comparing robinhood chain to basechain is pretty insane but also robinhood coins clearly need some time to marinate now that like literally every ounce of momentum has gone to stonk coins https://x.com/0xMerp/status/2102090529173643297
## @2xnmore (2xnmore) · 09-21 18:00 · ♥61 ↻1 💬6 Ondo shipped something today that reads like a boring plumbing update and is actually one of the most important moves in tokenised stocks this year.
Almost everyone will misread it, in one of two directions. Let me give you the read that is actually correct and useful.
First, kill the wrong headline.
This is not "deposit your Robinhood shares and get tokens." Your wallet cannot do that today and could not do it yesterday. Nothing about the retail experience changed.
What changed is who can create the tokens in the first place, and how. That sounds smaller. It is bigger. Here is why.
Start with what Ondo Stocks already are, so this lands.
Ondo Stocks are onchain tokens that track US stocks and ETFs. The naming is the ticker plus "on," so Nvidia is NVDAon, Tesla is TSLAon. Over 450 of them are live on Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Solana, backed by the real shares held at regulated US brokers.
One thing to burn into memory, because it never changed today. Holding NVDAon is not holding Nvidia stock. You get the economic exposure, the price and the dividends.
You do not get the actual share, the voting rights, or the ability to demand the physical stock. Ordinary holders cash out at the value of the underlying, not into a brokerage share. Keep that straight; it matters below.
Now the actual news, in plain words.
To create a tokenised stock, someone first has to put up the real asset behind it. Until today, the only way in was cash.
A market maker who already owned a pile of Apple shares still had to go find extra cash to mint AAPLon. Their stock was sitting in one account doing nothing for the token side.
That is a dumb tax, and everyone in the plumbing knew it.
Today Ondo added a second door. In-kind conversion. An approved institution can now take Apple shares it already holds and turn them directly into AAPLon, then later hand the tokens back and get the same shares returned.
No scramble for extra cash. The inventory it already owns becomes onchain inventory in a few clicks.
The rail underneath it is Alpaca's tokenisation network, and the move is quiet by design.
The shares transfer between broker accounts on the back end. No public market sale, no drama.
Here is why a cash-versus-shares detail is worth your attention.
The whole promise of tokenised stocks is that you can trade them cheaply, any time, with tight spreads.
Tight spreads need deep inventory.
Deep inventory needs market makers who can create and unwind tokens without friction.
Every time you force a market maker to lock up extra cash to mint, you make it more expensive for them to keep inventory onchain.
So they keep less. So spreads stay wide and the book stays thin.
In-kind conversion attacks exactly that. Let the people who already hold the shares turn them into tokens for near free, and they will warehouse far more inventory onchain.
More inventory means tighter spreads and deeper markets for everyone trading the tokens, including retail who never touch this door.
That is the real story. This is not a retail feature. It is the machine that makes the retail experience better underneath.
Now the honest limits, because this is where most posts will oversell it.
This is institutions only. You must be approved by Alpaca, case by case, and onboarded on both Ondo and Alpaca. A normal user gets nothing new in their app.
It is live on Ethereum and BNB Chain only for now. Not Solana yet, even though the tokens themselves live there.
The cash path did not go away. This sits next to it, it does not replace it.
And the legal wrapper is unchanged.
These tokens are still issued from a BVI entity, still not registered US securities, still not for sale to US persons, still economic exposure and not real share ownership for anyone who is not an approved institution using this exact door.
The tighter spreads are the goal, not a promise. They only happen if approved firms actually use the rail.
So how should you actually read today?
If you were hoping to put your brokerage account onchain, this is not that, and be sceptical of anyone selling it as that.
If you care whether tokenised stocks become real, liquid markets instead of thin experiments, this is a genuine step, because it removes one of the biggest reasons market makers held back.
The pattern to take with you, past this one announcement.
The loud tokenisation news is always a new token or a new chain.
The news that actually decides whether any of it works is the boring plumbing: who can create the asset, how cheaply, and how fast they can unwind it. That is what sets whether a market is deep or a ghost town.
Today Ondo worked on the plumbing, not the storefront.
That is usually where the real progress hides, and usually what the timeline scrolls right past.
So the question worth holding. When you judge a tokenised asset, are you watching the shiny new ticker, or the machine that decides whether you can actually get in and out at a fair price? https://x.com/2xnmore/status/2102095520147689829
