🌍 Moving From “Waiting for Price” to Real Utility
The direction of the Pi Network–Open Standard partnership reminds us of one important principle:
We should focus not only on technology, but on how technology creates real Utility and supports a complete ecosystem.
OUSD’s direction includes ecosystem growth through incentives, and Pi Network stated that it will explore OUSD use within the Pi ecosystem and potential reward programs for Pioneers.
But as Pioneers, we should ask the bigger questions:
🔹 Are people actually using Pi? 🔹 Are more merchants accepting Pi? 🔹 Are real commercial transactions increasing? 🔹 Are more useful DApps being developed? 🔹 Are more users participating? 🔹 Are global partnerships creating real ecosystem value?
🪷 Technology is a Tool.
🌍 Utility is the Goal.
🤝 Ecosystem is the Foundation.
This is why we should never become trapped in the idea that one technology alone can make Pi successful.
DEX is a tool. CEX is a tool. Stablecoins are tools. Wallets are tools. DApps are tools. Payment systems are tools.
The real goal is Utility and a functioning global ecosystem.
🪷 Pioneers Cannot Simply Wait
We should not simply wait for the Core Team, exchanges, developers, or other organizations to build everything for us.
The idea that:
«“Once the technology team finishes everything, there is nothing left for Pioneers to do.”»
is the wrong mindset.
The Core Team builds technical infrastructure. Developers build applications. Merchants create real-world use cases. Trading platforms provide market infrastructure. Partners bring resources, connections, and opportunities.
And Pioneers use, educate, communicate, participate, and help build the ecosystem.
🌍 Pioneers are not spectators. Pioneers are an important part of the Pi ecosystem!
GCV is not the exchange market price of Pi.
GCV represents a community-driven vision connected with long-term ecosystem development, real Utility, community participation, consensus, and future economic demand.
So we should ask ourselves:
Are we migrating? Are we using Pi? Are we supporting merchants? Are we building and using DApps? Are we creating real payment and commercial scenarios? Are we helping build long-term trust and consensus?
🌍 What we truly need to build is Utility.
Not waiting, but participating. Not watching, but building.

Almost everyone I talked to was conversational on tokenized $ 2. Digital assets came up a lot and in a positive way. There’s some fear, but way less than the discourse 3. Tokenized deposits are a big topic, but usually only come up after stablecoins. I stand by my view that tokenized deposits are primarily a way to upgrade heterogeneous and legacy bank cores, but they’re a laudable goal. 4. Besu (I know) still matters a lot. This makes much more sense when you reread 3. Arc, Tempo, Cosmos, avalanche, etc are the other players here 5. Growth, the SF-coded positive sum kind, is unfamiliar to bankers. Downside risk is *very familiar*. This makes it harder to sell the future. 6. Relatedly, it’s still hard for bankers to imagine *quality* of product being a competitive differentiator. This has funny effects, like thinking a bad agent is a good idea.
