Methodology
Goal totals follow the IFFHS criteria used in the List of footballers with 500 or more goals:
- ✅ Top-level club goals — league, national cup, and continental competition goals for first-team squads
- ✅ Senior national team goals — all competitive and friendly internationals for the senior squad
- ❌ Reserve / B-team / youth team goals excluded (e.g. Haaland's Bryne 2 & Molde 2, Mbappe's Monaco II, Yamal's Barça B)
Season totals (per row in the chart) combine club goals from that football season with international goals from the corresponding calendar year. World Cup goals (🌐) are attributed to the season in which the tournament was played and are included in the season total.
