if you’re Nigerian, there’s a very good chance you’ve had garri more times than you can count
and if you grew up in a Nigerian home, you already know the story
garri is one of those foods that somehow manages to be 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗽, 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘆, 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲
the beauty is that none of them are really necessary and you don’t need a kitchen full of ingredients
you can literally pour some garri into a bowl, add cold water and sugar, and you have yourself a meal 🍽️
groundnuts? milk? coconut?
those are just upgrades depending on how you like your garri
for many Nigerian families, garri has always been more than just food

i think i’ve done enough for today.
