And once agents start handling payments, simply giving them a way to send money is not enough.
.@Concordium already brought its settlement capabilities to x402, and now it is taking its involvement a step further.
Concordium has joined the x402 Foundation as a Member, contributing to the development of an open payment standard built for internet and AI agent payments.
The interesting part for me is what comes around the payment itself.
If an AI agent is going to transact for people or businesses, there should be a way to know who is behind it, who authorized it, and what it has permission to do.
That is where Concordium’s focus on identity, trust and accountability starts to matter even more as the agentic economy grows.
