## @banishahr66 (Borhan) · 10-01 12:39 · ♥41 ↻2 💬54 Four myths about privacy and trust in crypto that are keeping institutions on the sidelines, and what is actually true.

Myth one. Privacy and transparency are opposites, so you have to pick one.

Reality. They solve different problems. Transparency lets people check claims. Privacy protects sensitive information. Institutions need both at once, which means keeping private what needs to stay private and keeping provable what needs to be trusted. The whole idea behind @primus_labs is that financial activity can be private where necessary while claims remain verifiable.

Myth two. If data lives offchain, it cannot be trusted onchain.

Reality. This was true for a long time, but it is exactly the gap zkTLS addresses. With zkTLS, an attestor cryptographically proves that internet data or an API response obtained through HTTPS is authentic, without accessing the underlying raw data. So a claim about offchain information can be verified without exposing the information itself. Since a huge share of valuable financial data sits in Web2 systems, this matters a lot.

Myth three. To compute on private data, you must expose it first.

Reality. Normally data has to be decrypted before it can be processed, and that is the moment it becomes vulnerable. FHE changes that. It allows computation directly on encrypted data, and the result can only be decrypted by the authorized owner. This is the technology behind Primus Confidential Finance, a portal where users can hold, transfer and earn yield privately on encrypted assets.

Myth four. Proof of reserves is just a marketing page.

Reality. It depends on how it is built. The Primus Proof of Reserve service offers real time verification of onchain and offchain portfolios using cryptographic proofs instead of promises. Primus reports transparency proofs covering over 72 million dollars in value across production projects, including RWA and stablecoins, with real time reserve verification for projects like Unitas USDu and Perena USD.

So what does this mean for the bigger picture?

Public blockchains work well for open participation, but serious institutional activity needs two prerequisites. Confidentiality, so strategies and positions are not exposed to every observer. And verification, so counterparties can trust what is being claimed. Primus sits above existing onchain financial rails to provide both, so institutions can make onchain finance more private without rebuilding their setup.

This is also why BNB is part of the story. Primus reports that its zkTLS verification layer went live on BNB Chain in June, and that it is working with BNB Chain and Brevis on ZKredit. Speed and low fees are real strengths, but for institutions to show up in size, an ecosystem also needs confidentiality and verification built in. That is what can make the BNB ecosystem more suitable for institutional activity.

There is one more detail I find interesting. Primus also supports Kaito Pulse with zkTLS verification of off platform activity, and worked with Brevis and Kaito AI on a tool for verifying authentic creator contributions. It is a good example of the same idea in a different setting, proving something real without exposing everything behind it.

The takeaway is simple. The old assumption was that you must choose between trust and privacy. The better answer is to build both into the stack. Privacy without proof means no trust. Proof without privacy means no adoption.

and #BNB never stops working. every transaction, every swap, every launch runs on it.
