Stop pulling over just to talk. PedalTalk is an intercom for riders wearing Bluetooth earphones: keep listening to Spotify or any music app and simply talk, as a pair or as a group.

Start speaking and everyone in your room hears you. When you are quiet, nothing is sent. Noise suppression filters out wind so your voice comes through while you ride.

• Music stays on

Your music dips only while someone talks, then comes right back. Keep using the music app you already love.

• Keeps talking when LTE drops

PedalTalk connects over the internet and, in tunnels or weak signal areas, switches to direct Bluetooth links with nearby riders. It switches paths on its own and reconnects when the connection drops. Short spoken alerts tell you when the connection is lost or back, so you never need to look at the screen.

• One code to connect

One rider creates a room and gets a 6-digit code and a QR code. The other enters the code or scans the QR. No sign-up.

• Works with the screen off

Put your phone in a pocket or on a mount. Mute or end from the notification. With the screen on, a big mute button is easy to press even with gloves.

• Microphone modes

When you use a Bluetooth earphone microphone, Android switches the earphones to call mode and music drops to call quality. This is a limit of the Bluetooth standard that apps cannot change, so you can choose:

- Simple: use the earphone mic. Music plays at call quality.

- Music priority: talk into a wired or USB-C mic while your earphones keep stereo music.

- LE Audio: for earphones that support LE Audio.

PedalTalk checks your connected devices and tells you why a mode is unavailable.

• Privacy

Your voice goes directly to the other riders and is never stored on a server.

• Ride safely

Open-ear or bone conduction earphones that let you hear traffic are recommended. Do not look at or touch the screen while riding, and follow local rules on earphone use.

There is no limit on group size. Every rider connects directly to every other rider, so larger groups use more data and battery, and Bluetooth links can become unstable beyond four or five riders. For a stable connection, exclude PedalTalk from battery optimization.
