## @stitchdegen (Stitch) · 09-16 21:02 · ♥46 ↻8 💬19 And the third token I want to talk about is $DUKE

Quite a few of you have been asking me about this one

Before getting into $DUKE specifically, I think we need to look briefly at the current context of the ecosystem

ArgusPad is currently leading the launchpad space on Arc in terms of attention and capital flow. $ARGUS is also among the more prominent tokens in the ecosystem, while a growing number of new tokens are being launched underneath it and the market is starting to look for the first real runners

This is a pretty familiar pattern on new chains

Capital flows into the launchpads first, then the market starts looking for standout tokens coming out of them. And alongside tech/protocol plays, there are usually a few pure memes that retail chooses as attention magnets

$DUKE is currently one of the tokens I’m watching for that role

But let’s be clear: $DUKE basically has no fundamentals

This is a pure meme

No tech, no revenue, no utility for me to dig into

The thesis right now is almost entirely built around :

Narrative + attention + social catalysts

And the story itself is very simple

Duke is said to be Jeremy Allaire’s dog, the CEO of Circle. With Arc having just gone live on mainnet, the whole “Duke of Arc” angle is almost too easy for the market to turn into a meme

More importantly, this narrative wasn’t created entirely out of thin air by the community

Rachel Mayer, who works on product at Arc/Circle, posted a picture of Duke saying :

“the duke of @arc has entered the chat / I hear it’s @jerallaire’s dog”

That post later reached hundreds of thousands of views, becoming one of the catalysts that pushed more attention toward the $DUKE narrative

But I still want to make one thing very clear :

This is soft confirmation of the Duke story, not an official endorsement of $DUKE by Arc or Circle

Those are two completely different things

So what is the market actually betting on?

It’s pretty simple :

Whether this narrative continues to get fed

If Jeremy Allaire posts about Duke again, or people around Arc/Circle continue mentioning the dog, attention could come back very quickly

Especially during the early stage of a new ecosystem, the market doesn’t necessarily need a complicated story

We’ve seen this pattern many times across different chains

The most recent example I can think of is $CASHCAT on Robinhood Chain

I’m not saying $DUKE will become the next $CASHCAT. The similarity is simply in market behavior

A new ecosystem usually ends up finding a few memes that are simple, memorable, and closely tied to the identity of the ecosystem to concentrate attention around

For $DUKE, the “CEO dog + Duke of Arc” narrative at least checks those boxes

And with ArgusPad currently leading the launchpad side of Arc, I’m also watching to see whether the market chooses a strong meme runner underneath it

Right now, $DUKE is one of the names that clearly has the attention

But the thing I care about most right now is no longer the narrative

It’s positioning

The first $DUKE pump happened extremely fast, so not many people actually managed to get a good position

It wasn’t until the chart dipped back into the $3M–$4M range that I started seeing a lot more people buying and holding

And that was when I started getting a little concerned

For a pure meme, having too many people entering around the same level while waiting for the exact same catalyst isn’t necessarily bullish

If the chart moves higher, there’s a lot of supply waiting to take profit

More importantly, if support breaks, the same people waiting for the “CEO shill” can easily become the same people panic selling at once

And right now, that panic has already started

$DUKE has been pushed down from the $3M–$4M area to around $2M, with a pretty clear panic candle

This is actually where things become more interesting for me to watch

I already took a small position around $3M, but I’m not rushing to add just because it’s now at $2M

$2M being cheaper than $3M doesn’t automatically mean the setup is better

Considering how many people entered around $3M–$4M, if the chart remains weak, we could easily see another round of capitulation

What I want to see now is :

Can the market absorb this panic supply?

If people keep selling but the volume gets absorbed well, the chart stops making new lows and eventually starts reclaiming the levels it lost, then the setup becomes much more interesting for me to consider adding

But if holders continue panicking and there’s no real demand underneath, I have no reason to try to guess the exact bottom

The website is also currently having issues. I don’t want to overreact to that, but obviously it doesn’t help sentiment while the chart is already going through a panic

So my plan with $DUKE is pretty simple

I’m still holding a small position from around $3M and watching how the market reacts around the current area

No FOMO, and no rushing to average down just because the MC has dropped

I’d rather let the market flush out some of the weaker holders first

If the panic gets absorbed, the chart reclaims and social attention is still there, then the risk/reward starts becoming interesting again

But if this area gets lost, volume slowly dies and the narrative doesn’t get fed again, there’s basically nothing left for me to defend in the thesis

At the end of the day, I still see $DUKE as a gamble, not an investment

ArgusPad is currently leading the launchpad attention on Arc, $DUKE has a narrative simple enough to become one of the memes the market focuses on during the ecosystem’s early days, and it has already received a social catalyst from someone around Arc/Circle

But the entire valuation is still built on attention

More catalysts = the narrative gets extended

No catalysts = watch the chart

If both attention and the chart die, I have no reason to keep holding

Keep the size reasonable. With a pure meme like this, I’d rather buy after seeing the panic get absorbed than try to prove I can catch the exact bottom

0x41358defd0dedc90528b3f1835715e907b686e6a > 引用 @stitchdegen: And the second project in my Arc series today is $TOLLY

Most people following Arc over the past few days probably already know quite a bit about Tolly, so I won’t spend too much time explaining everything from scratch

What I’m more interested in is this :

Now that Arc is public mainnet and $TOLLY has already gone from around $25M to $8–9M, is there still a thesis for another leg?

1. Quick recap of the $TOLLY narrative

$TOLLY is the token of Tolly Labs, a platform building a launchpad, trading terminal, and several onchain tools for traders on Arc

It is not an official token of Arc or Circle

What I like most about Tolly is how they designed the launch mechanism

Tokens are launched directly into a USDC pool with LP locked from the beginning. There’s no bonding curve and no need to wait for a “graduation” before migrating liquidity

But what gives $TOLLY its own thesis is the fee mechanism

Native launches on Tolly have a 1% pool fee. On buys, the fee is split between creators, holders, and the protocol, with 9% used to buy and burn $TOLLY, plus another 5% used to buy and burn the project token

So the thesis is pretty simple :

More tokens launching on Tolly => more volume => more fees => more $TOLLY bought back and burned

The mechanics are easy to understand, and I think this was one of the main reasons Tolly got so much attention before mainnet

2. But good mechanics are no longer enough

This is the part I care about the most

Before public mainnet, Tolly being heavily researched, having a relatively clean LP model, and being considered one of the top Arc launchpads were all good catalysts

But Arc is public now

From this point, I don’t really care whether people call Tolly the #1 or #2 launchpad

What I want to see is :

Can Tolly actually launch tokens that run?

Because if most of the volume still comes from $TOLLY itself, then the current flywheel is basically :

$TOLLY generates volume => creates fees => fees buy/burn $TOLLY

That doesn’t prove product-market fit yet

The stronger version of the thesis would be :

Another token launches on Tolly => that token generates real volume => Tolly earns fees => part of those fees flows back into buying/burning $TOLLY

If Tolly starts consistently producing runners like this, then I can start viewing $TOLLY as a bet on Arc’s launch infrastructure, rather than just a platform token benefiting from mainnet hype

3. This is also a distribution war

Tolly isn’t competing alone

Arc just opened up, so launchpads are appearing everywhere. Argus, Warp, Archemist, and several other platforms are all fighting for the same thing :

Where will devs choose to launch, and which platform will traders open when they want to hunt new tokens?

There are a few things I like about Tolly

LP is locked from the beginning, there’s no bonding curve/migration step, creators receive a large share of the fees, and the team is also building things like a terminal, Telegram Mini App, holder maps, wallet clustering, and routing tools

So they’re trying to make Tolly a place where users can launch + discover + trade, rather than just another “Create Token” button

But ultimately, everything comes back to distribution

Good mechanics won’t save a launchpad if devs don’t launch there and traders don’t stay there

That’s also why I think comparing Tolly to PONS/Pumpfun this early is premature

Tolly first needs to prove that volume can come from tokens launched on the platform, rather than mainly from its own platform token

4. What about $TOLLY at ~$8–9M?

The chart is pretty interesting too

On day one, $TOLLY spiked to around $25M MC, then retraced hard back to roughly $8–9M on the chart I’m watching

That’s around a 60–65% drawdown from the peak

But to me :

Being down 60% doesn’t automatically mean something is cheap

Especially for a day-one token on a new chain with relatively thin liquidity

The $25M peak was the market pricing in expectations: Arc mainnet + top launchpad narrative + interesting mechanics + attention

Now those expectations are being reset

So the $8–9M area is starting to become more interesting to watch, but I’m not calling this a confirmed bottom

If I wanted exposure here, I’d only take a small starter position

Personally, I’d be more interested around $4–7M if the market gives us that opportunity, but there’s one important condition :

Tolly itself still needs to be alive

If it drops to $5M while platform volume disappears, devs move to Argus/Warp, and nobody trades tokens launched on Tolly, then $5M isn’t necessarily cheap either

On the other hand, if it holds $8–9M while external runners start appearing, fees increase, and buyback/burn activity follows real platform volume, I’d value the thesis much more highly

5. What I’m watching over the next 48–72 hours

I don’t need another announcement explaining how good Tolly’s mechanics are

The market already knows that

I want to see 1–2 tokens other than $TOLLY actually run on the platform, platform volume start separating from the native token, fee/burn activity grow accordingly, and creators continue choosing Tolly to launch

I’m also watching whether Arc itself can keep the attention

Because Tolly is still an infrastructure bet underneath the ecosystem :

Arc keeps attracting capital and attention => launchpads have a chance to fight for market share. Arc cools down => every launchpad struggles, regardless of how good the mechanics look. And remember, Tolly is not a product of Circle or Arc. It’s an independent team building on Arc

6. My current view

I still think Tolly is one of the more interesting infrastructure projects to watch in the early Arc ecosystem

I like the LP design, the fee structure, and especially the fact that $TOLLY has a relatively clear value-accrual mechanism through buybacks and burns

But I think the first leg of the thesis has already been traded by the market

That was :

Arc mainnet + Tolly being one of the most watched launchpads + good mechanics

For a second leg, the market needs something new :

Tolly needs to prove that it can generate volume for tokens other than itself

If we start seeing a few runners coming out of Tolly over the next 2–3 days, creators continue launching there, and fee/burn activity grows alongside external volume, then I think the story becomes much more interesting

But if volume continues revolving mainly around the native token while traders and creators move elsewhere, I’ll lower my expectations pretty quickly

So at around $8–9M, I’m not FOMOing and I’m not calling the bottom either

If I wanted to play it, I’d only start small. I’d rather watch the $4–7M area more closely, or accept buying higher later if Tolly proves real activity

In short, I’m not betting on $TOLLY just because the mechanics look good

I’m betting on the possibility that Tolly becomes one of the places devs actually choose to launch tokens on Arc

If that happens, the buyback/burn mechanism starts to matter

If Tolly can only generate volume for $TOLLY itself, then the thesis still isn’t strong enough for me

Now I’ll let the market and the volume give us the answer
