But this does NOT mean Congress just passed a new crypto law.
The CLARITY Act, which contains provisions expanding permitted crypto activities for financial institutions, has NOT passed the Senate.
What IS moving forward separately is the implementation of the GENIUS Act, which was already signed into law and created a federal framework for payment stablecoins.
So there are two different stories being mixed together:
CLARITY = not passed GENIUS = law and being implemented Banks + crypto = regulatory changes are moving forward
