sit there and hold value.
And there’s nothing wrong with that.
But as crypto evolved, a strange gap appeared.
There is an enormous amount of value sitting in BTC, while newer onchain applications keep creating more ways for assets to interact, move, and be used.
So the question becomes:
Can Bitcoin participate in that world without losing what makes it Bitcoin?
That’s where @Starknet gets interesting.
Starknet is building ways for Bitcoin to interact with a programmable environment, with strkBTC serving as one of the pieces connecting BTC to applications on Starknet.
Now BTC can be brought into an ecosystem where it can potentially be used across beldexcoin DeFi and other applications instead of simply sitting idle.
And there’s another layer to the story.
Starknet is also working on privacy infrastructure that gives users the option to shield certain information when using assets such as strkBTC.
Not “Bitcoin is suddenly anonymous.”
Not “everything is private.”
Just more flexibility around how Bitcoin can be used.
That’s the part I find interesting.
The goal isn’t to replace Bitcoin.
