Data: US Government Address Transfers Out 12,267 BTC, Worth About $1.01 Billion

PANews reported on October 8 that, according to Arkham and on-chain data, at 21:33 Beijing time on October 8, an address labeled "US Government: Bitfinex Hacker Confiscated Funds" transferred out 12,267.02 BTC (about $1.01 billion). Subsequently, 6,000 of those BTC were moved in two transactions to a new address 33pYK…cFk, while the remaining roughly 6,267 BTC were temporarily held in another new address. In the previous two days, US government-related addresses had cumulatively transferred more than 6,200 BTC to Coinbase Prime.
