The question is what the Modi government did with it after coming to power. In 2015, his government amended the Act and expanded the offences and enforcement provisions. Then in 2018, after the Supreme Court had put some safeguards around FIRs and arrests, the Modi government brought in Section 18A … no preliminary inquiry before an FIR, no prior approval for arrest, and no anticipatory bail under Section 438 CrPC.
So saying “Congress brought the Act” and then using Rahul Gandhi’s speech as a shield doesn’t answer anything. Modi was Prime Minister when these amendments were made. Parliament passed them under his government. That is simply a fact.
And yes, protect SC/ST victims from genuine atrocities. Absolutely. But why does asking for safeguards against false or malicious cases suddenly become an attack on the Act?
You can worship Modi, hate Rahul Gandhi, or do whatever you want. 😂 But at least argue about what actually happened to the law under each government, instead of turning everything into “Congress bad, Modi good.”
Because that’s not history. That’s fan fiction. 😂
