## @DanielFenelus2 (Daπiel.F) · 10-09 03:31 · ♥86 ↻9 💬2 Pi Network has referenced several stablecoins that are expected to integrate into the Pi network, aside from OUSD. They spoke about stablecoins in the plural. USDT and USDC are also expected to integrate into the network. For converting your Pi, the Pi Core Team will not put volatile currencies into the DEX. Other institutions might do so, but Pi Network will not directly put cryptocurrencies. #PiNetwork https://x.com/DanielFenelus2/status/2108399940858708341
## @pitown89 (Pi Town) · 10-09 02:18 · ♥59 ↻9 💬2 🤨💥 STABLECOIN OUSD ENTERS PI NETWORK: A LONG-TERM OPPORTUNITY, BUT THE ROAD IS STILL LONG 🥱
OUSD entering Pi Network sounds very appealing, but there is still a long gap between vision and reality, from technical to legal. Let's go over the opportunities and the points that call for caution.
🔹 1. Implicit admission: Pi cannot serve as a fixed payment currency
🔸 Reality: Real-world trading models (P2P, dApps) require price stability in order to list goods and make payments. A highly volatile coin like Pi makes it very hard for merchants to accept the risk.
◆ Intent: Bringing a stablecoin pegged to 1 USD, like OUSD, into the ecosystem is a step back from the "Pi only" ideal, but it is a practical step forward. Pi Network acknowledges that it needs a stable currency as the yardstick for transaction value.
🔹 2. A "sharing the pie" strategy to attract businesses and generate cash flow
🔸 Reality: Major stablecoins like USDT or USDC keep all the profit from interest on their reserve assets. OUSD, in contrast, has a model that shares most of this revenue with issuing/distribution partners.
◆ Intent: Pi wants to leverage OUSD's model to create a new source of passive income for both the Core Team and businesses in the ecosystem. This is the economic "bait" to draw developers and third-party apps to Pi.
🔹 3. Using OUSD "fresh money" to retain users (Pioneers)
🔸 Reality: Having Pioneers wait for a long time easily leads to fatigue and reduced engagement.
◆ Intent: Instead of rewarding only with Pi (whose liquidity and price volatility are still unclear), expanding the rewards program with OUSD, an asset with real value tied to the USD, will create more practical motivation and keep users engaged in completing tasks and using apps.
🔹 4. A stalling message and a legal challenge that will drag on
🔸 Reality: The announcement uses a series of directional phrases such as "explore," "establish principles," and "legal compliance."
◆ Intent: ▸ This is only a vision/framework cooperation statement (MoU), with no technical feature or actual product running right away. ▸ The global regulatory framework for stablecoins (US, Europe) is being tightened considerably. Pi proactively mentions "legal compliance" to prepare the community mentally that this roadmap will take a long time and progress will be slow.
● Conclusion: The announcement marks a strategic shift toward a Hybrid model: Pi holds the role of accumulation asset / ecosystem governance, while OUSD serves as the payment and reward tool. This is a practical direction for long-term development, but users need to understand that the integration process will not happen overnight. https://x.com/pitown89/status/2108381433433825318
## @Koreanteacher1 (Dao world) · 10-09 02:04 · ♥45 ↻4 💬4 Some advice for those who treat Pi like a religion rather than understanding cryptocurrency.
1. Pi is NOT a stablecoin.
2. Once stablecoins are introduced to the Pi ecosystem, most payments and transfers will likely be handled by stablecoins.
3. However, even when you transfer stablecoins on the Pi blockchain, transaction fees will still be paid in Pi.
4. Liquidity pools between Pi and stablecoins will be created on DEXs, allowing people to trade Pi at market prices.
5. There won't be a big price difference between DEXs and CEXs because arbitrage trading will help keep prices close to each other.
6. Pi will also be used as collateral in DeFi markets, giving people another reason to hold Pi.
7. When making payments, you will be able to choose whether to pay with stablecoins or Pi.
8. Stablecoins could dramatically increase transaction volume on the Pi blockchain. Since transaction fees are paid in Pi, this would also increase the usage of Pi.
I believe burning these transaction fees would be the most appropriate approach. However, that decision is ultimately up to the Pi Core Team.
The point is simple: Stablecoins are not here to replace Pi. They can help expand the Pi ecosystem and create more demand for Pi itself.
#pi #파이 > 引用 @Koreanteacher1: I believe this is how it will unfold: within the next 2 to 3 years at the latest, instead of a world where people directly pay with $Pi, we'll more likely see a system where payments are made using stablecoins on the Pi Network, while Pi is used as the gas fee to power those transactions.
