i used to see Arbitrum mainly as an L2 making money from activity on Arbitrum One.
but the model is now much broader than that.
According to the latest Arbitrum Foundation report on Sep 2, ArbitrumDAO recorded $6.19M in income in H1 2026, with gross margin on protocol revenue at around 97%.
Income came from 4 sources:
> transaction fees on Arbitrum One. > Timeboost, where users pay extra for priority execution. > Arbitrum Expansion Program (AEP). > treasury income.
in Q3, @RobinhoodCrypto went mainnet in July and uses the Arbitrum stack.
Under AEP, Robinhood Chain shares 10% of net protocol revenue: 8% goes to the ArbitrumDAO Treasury and 2% to the Developer Guild.
DeFiLlama data shows that Q3 2026 so far:
> ~$1.58M in tracked gross protocol revenue. > ~$1.40M came from Robinhood Chain fee share. > after the Developer Guild share, around $1.12M has flowed to the DAO Treasury.
in the last 30 days alone, revenue was around $856.6K, with $825.2K coming from Robinhood Chain - over 96%.
This is the part that changed my thesis on Arbitrum.
Before: Activity on Arbitrum One -> Arbitrum makes money.
Now: Companies build chains with Arbitrum -> those chains grow -> ArbitrumDAO captures part of the economics too.
#Robinhood is the first clear example showing that this model can generate meaningful revenue.
and the market also seems to be starting to price in that story. from Sep 1 to the ATH on Sep 6, $ARB gained around ~140% as Robinhood Chain revenue surged.
What i’m still waiting for is a clearer way for $ARB to benefit directly from DAO revenue.
The DAO already has real revenue, but ARB holders still don’t receive that cash flow directly.
Still, the direction looks quite positive:
More chains using Arbitrum -> more DAO revenue -> more reason for $ARB to get attention.
