The numbers are strange. $1.6B DEX volume and $919M perp volume in 24 hours but only $166K in chain fees and $147K in chain revenue. On September 2 the chain printed $4.01M in daily revenue. Thats a 98% drop with trading activity roughly flat.
The subsidy masked the gap between activity and monetization. Now we can see it.
A few things worth noting. Apps are capturing far more than the chain: $1.16M in app revenue versus $166K at the chain level an 8x spread. Perp volume ran $4.84B over the last 7 days up 25% week over week while DEX volume fell 12.8% to $9.05B. Activity is broadening beyond spot even as blockspace revenue collapses.
The earlier thesis was simple: high activity drives expensive blockspace drives chain revenue. That math broke. The question now is whether there'=s a real ecosystem underneath the subsidy or just subsidized behavior.
One day doesnt answer that. If DEX volume holds above $1B daily and perp volume keeps expanding with users paying their own gas thats a stronger signal than the $4M revenue spike ever was.

but here's funny part literally can't buy priority on RH
sequencer is fcfs that extra fee moves you up exactly 0 spots
so trader tweaks his settings, pays for speed boost, thinks he's about to outrun every sniper… meanwhile his tx is sitting in same line as everyone else
