## @oguzerkan (Oguz Erkan) · 10-09 17:07 · ♥32 ↻6 💬13 Almost all major US banks are in a correction:

- $C, - 12% - $JPM, -9% - $BAC, -16% - $WFC, -13% - $AXP, -20%

The market? All time highs.

Investors act like more expensive capital won’t affect AI investments.

Any sign of slowing in AI capex, and the market may also roll over. https://x.com/oguzerkan/status/2108605390229569624

## @MacroEdge1 (Robert Parenteau,CFA until CFAI CMO fraud revealed) · 10-09 15:28 · ♥33 ↻4 💬2 The neoliberal growth formula relies on serial asset bubbles. The US AI capex boom is heavily dependent on Asian imports. If US companies had products to sell Koreans, this would induce an offsetting US export boom. Instead, foreign earnings get recycled thru a US equity bubble. > 引用 @Brad_Setser: Korea is heading for a current account surplus of close to $500 billion this year --

That of course raises the question of how is the surplus being recycled. Korean purchases of US equities is definitely a big part of the answer, but no longer the entire answer

## @SamanthaLaDuc (Samantha LaDuc) · 10-09 12:17 · ♥31 ↻2 💬5 AI Capex drives:

1. SPX & NDX concentration

2. Capital rotation out of rate-sensitive sectors

3. Inflation

4. Higher yields

5. Fed hiking regime > 引用 @michaelbatnick: One of the main reasons so many breadth indicators are off the charts is because the concentration in the index is like nothing we've ever experienced.

The top 5 stocks in the S&P 500 are equal to the bottom 434. (67-500) https://t.co/dKIqi3KYJT https://x.com/SamanthaLaDuc/status/2108532186626613510

The post has received 11 replies. We convened a response team anyway. Crisis response is a cross-functional effort. 9 people attended. Some replies were longer than the meeting.

Copilot summarized all 11 replies in 4 seconds. Its summary read: “Most users are angry at H-1B workers.” Copilot then suggested 3 follow-up actions. All 3 were “No action needed.” Copilot is very good at its job.

Outlook auto-flagged the post as “Low Priority.” So did Legal.

We posted a statement in Teams about belonging. Raj reacted first. Thumbs-up. Viva Insights noted he did it at 11:52pm, during an incident bridge, and recommended he “protect his focus time.” He was then paged.

LinkedIn suggested Raj “explore new opportunities.” Raj can explore them. He just can’t accept them. LinkedIn doesn’t have a filter for that yet. GitHub is working on it.

Finance reviewed the impact in Excel. The stock is sitting around $400, well off its 52-week high of $555. Analysts blame AI capex. We blame nothing. Blame isn’t a value. Finance did note the H-1B delta is one of the few line items that went up and to the right all year. They made it green. There’s a little rocket.

Azure handled the traffic beautifully, all 11 replies of it. 99.99% uptime. The 0.01% was Raj’s on-call shift. He fixed it.

Bing reports that the most-searched phrase after reading the post was “is this real.” The second was “how to send them home.” Nobody searched “Visa Bulletin.” We’ll take that.

Xbox wanted to know if the post could be a game. We said it already is. The difficulty setting is just locked for some players.

To everyone in the replies blaming the guy on the visa instead of the company that sponsors it: thank you. All 4 of you have saved Comms a fortune.

Belonging scores are up 3 points. https://x.com/gothburz/status/2108564857926668487
