Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) just delivered one of the best quarters in its history. Parent company Alphabet grew revenue 24.23% to $119.80 billion in Q2, and Google Cloud grew 82% to $24.77 billion.

Even so, shares are up only 8.99% year to date at $341.35. That leaves one question for this article: can Alphabet reach $500 in 2027?

What's Holding Alphabet Back Right Now

Q2 capex came in at $44.92 billion, up 100.14% YoY, and that pushed free cash flow to -$5.86 billion. To pay for the AI buildout, Alphabet raised roughly $70 billion in equity and debt and paused buybacks.

Shares changed hands at $393.32 in mid-May and have drifted lower since then. The stock is up just 1.8% over the past month and 1.19% over the past week. Its beta of 1.225 means moves in either direction come in larger than the market's.

I think the Street is lowballing it. 92% of analysts are bullish, and earnings growth adds 0.03 to our factor. Cloud backlog stands at $514 billion, and management expects to recognize just over 50% of it within 24 months. Revenue that visible deserves a higher price than $419.
