It took some time and lots of tokens, but we now have a formally verified proposal for a decoupled consensus protocol in I* (a future Ethereum upgrade)! Not yet a full spec (up next), but it includes all the key consensus-relevant details to become one.
Since Ethereum aspires to be live without most of the stake online, the protocol involves many more components than a normal BFT protocol, and its correctness involves much more than standard safety and liveness. Those nuanced properties are now verified!
What's more, I came away convinced that all protocol design will involve AI-assisted Formal Verification in the future, both for correctness and iteration speed.
The work wasn't limited to just:
Design the protocol -> Formally verify it
Instead, the loop became more like:
Design -> Formal Model -> Find exactly what breaks and why -> Redesign it.
For a fairly complicated protocol like this one, I think having the Lean model be part of the design loop played a big role in accelerating the process.
A future with agents paired with formal models is a superpower for Ethereum development, because they can then use those models to find exactly where an argument breaks down, formalize counterexamples, test proposed fixes, iterate on the protocol.
Many details that would slip under the radar when asking agents (and indeed, humans) can now be specified exactly and checked by the Lean kernel. This then forces agents to be more precise and lets them make verifiable progress on their own. It's been incredible to see this play out, seeing agents find gaps and propose protocol changes to fix them.
In other words, autoresearch can speed up protocol design, formal verification is here to stay, and Ethereum Finality will get faster. https://x.com/VitalikButerin/status/2104186531829445083
## @momehx (Momeh) · 09-27 05:30 · ♥200 ↻1 💬260 VANGRID IS TURNING REAL-WORLD OBSERVATION INTO A MARKET
The interesting part of @vangrid_io isn’t the smartphone app.
It’s what happens when physical-world information becomes something that can be requested, priced, verified, and purchased.
Traditional mapping usually follows a fixed model: deploy equipment, collect a dataset, process it, then distribute the finished product.
Vangrid introduces a more dynamic model where the demand can come first.
1. DATA REQUESTS START THE PROCESS
→ A company needs fresh information from a specific location.
→ Instead of deploying its own survey team, the request can become a targeted bounty.
→ Contributors near the required location can respond using hardware they already carry.
→ The result is a supply network that can react to specific data requirements rather than relying entirely on pre-built datasets.
2. THE PHYSICAL WORLD BECOMES CONTINUOUSLY UPDATABLE
Buildings change.
Warehouses get reorganized.
Construction alters streets.
Loading areas move.
Infrastructure gets replaced.
A static spatial dataset can become outdated without anyone noticing.
Vangrid’s distributed capture model creates the possibility of repeatedly refreshing those environments as conditions change.
3. PROVENANCE BECOMES PART OF THE DATA
The important question isn’t only what was captured?
It’s also:
Who captured it?
When was it captured?
Where was it captured?
Has the record been altered?
Vangrid uses hashes, timestamps, contributor information, Merkle structures, and Ethereum Attestation Service to create a verification trail anchored on Base.
4. THE ECONOMIC LAYER CONNECTS BOTH SIDES
The network already reports:
1,024,912+ captures
423,143 active nodes
3,823 attested Merkle trees
$311K+ USDC settled
That creates an interesting structure:
Enterprise demand → spatial bounty → local capture → verification → spatial dataset → settlement
The bigger opportunity isn’t simply collecting more images.
It’s creating a decentralized marketplace where fresh physical-world information can move from the person closest to the location to the machine that needs the data.
That is a very different proposition from building another mapping app.

## @XNXX_EN (Lina 🦅) · 09-27 09:21 · ♥200 ↻0 💬158 WLFI is taking its new governance incentive program to a vote. 🦅
The idea is pretty simple: all $WLFI holders keep their voting rights, while unlocked $WLFI can be locked for 180 days and earn rewards by actively voting.
The rewards won’t have a fixed APR. They’ll depend on the available pool and how much $WLFI is staked, with direct voting at least once every 90 days required.
It also fits with the wider growth of the @worldlibertyfi ecosystem, where ethereum:0x8d0d000ee44948fc98c9b98a4fa4921476f08b0d and World Liberty Markets continue to expand.
If approved, the target launch is Oct 1.
I’m curious to see how much this changes governance participation once it goes live. > 引用 @worldlibertyfi: The vote is live.
