## @real_shnida (SHNIDA) · 09-19 05:11 · ♥75 ↻15 💬51 I think Bitcoin has always been one of the biggest assets in this crypto space, but actually putting that capital to work onchain has not always been that simple. just want to let you know that @Starknet is taking a different strategy by building more ways for Bitcoin to be used within DeFi, and BTC can be brought into Starknet and used across things like lending, liquidity, borrowing and also staking. So with strkBTC, Starknet gives Bitcoin holders a way to bring BTC from their own wallet into this ecosystem, while also having the option to shield certain balances and transfers. i think this is an important step for Bitcoin because it gives holders more ways to use their BTC without treating ownership and privacy as separate from the experience.

Sure, you can do emails and restaurant bookings 2-5x faster, but you are now exposing yourself to asymmetric downside. Most apps handle OTP + account recovery through just your email, so a single hack can compromise your entire digital life.
