ProofHalt tackles a very practical problem: what happens when an app suspects there’s an active exploit and needs to pause risky actions quickly?
So the idea is simple.
Anyone can report a potential exploit, back it with a stake and provide public evidence.
Independent checkers then assess the evidence.
If the threat is confirmed, the protocol can halt actions like withdrawals.
If the report is wrong, the reporter loses their stake.
False halts can also be challenged, while remediation gives the owner a path to unhalt once the issue is fixed.
I went through the UI and demo myself and the flow was easy to follow with very few issues.
I also noticed an improvement from when I first tried it: wallet support is no longer limited to MetaMask.
Overall, ProofHalt feels like a substantial project with a clear security use case and an interesting permissionless approach to responding to potential exploits.
