PANews, September 30 — A White House official revealed that U.S. President Trump is expected to announce on Wednesday afternoon in the Oval Office that South Korea plans to invest $200 billion in U.S. energy projects, including the construction of 8 nuclear power plants, investment in a power generation facility in Texas, and participation in the Alaska liquefied natural gas (LNG) export project. Earlier reports said South Korea planned to provide $54 billion in support for the Alaska LNG project. This $200 billion investment is the first batch of projects to receive support under last year's U.S.-South Korea trade agreement framework. Under the agreement, South Korea committed to investing $350 billion in the United States. The projects Trump is announcing this time involve new investment commitments.
