everyone keeps hyping blockchain transparency, but once you look under the hood, you can get even more confused about what the numbers actually mean.
imagine two wallets both doing $1M+ volume:
▸ one is a real user, holding long-term and providing legit liquidity ▸ the other is a bot looping trades just to farm incentives
on paper, they look identical. but one is productive capital while the other is basically a liability
that’s the real issue: DeFi doesn’t lack data. it lacks context.
raw volume alone can’t tell you which activity is actually valuable. keep rewarding every big number and farm wallets will eventually drain the incentives.
that’s why stuff like ZeruAI + Zaps is interesting, looking beyond transaction counts, scoring behavior like zScore, and filtering out low-quality wallets.
