The EcoSmart ant killer is described as "environmentally friendly," with a formula that won't contaminate groundwater. You may still wish to keep any type of insecticides away from pollinator gardens or other areas where you're wishing to attract insects, however.
Note that EcoSmart recommends its insect killer be applied after rain.
