1. "In a 2009 study of married patients with serious illness, 20.8% of relationships ended in separation or divorce when the woman was the affected partner, compared with 2.9% when the man was the affected partner."
"I worked with a woman who spent a summer volunteering for a nonprofit that takes people who use wheelchairs on recreational activities.
She said that most of the men showed up with a wife or girlfriend. The women were overwhelmingly there with a family member or a friend and very rarely there with a romantic partner."
